Dear CAP members and the larger palynology/paleobotany community,

In May 2024, CAP president Jen Galloway and CAP Councillor to International Federation of Palynological Societies Vera Pospelova attended the XI International Organization of Paleobotany (IOPC) and XV International Palynological Congress (IPC) meeting in Prague, Czech Republic. Jen Galloway and the main conference organizer, Christopher West (Royal Tyrell Museum in Drumheller, Alberta) presented a bid on behalf of CAP and the Canadian paleobotany community to host the next join IOPC-IPC meeting in Calgary, Alberta in 2028. Jen’s bid to the IFPS was unanimously approved, as was Christopher’s bid to the paleobotany community. The date of the congress is not yet determined but will likely be in the middle of August to accommodate the beginning of the academic year for American colleagues. CAP’s Jen Galloway and Manuel Bringué are part of the organizing committee.
